Three weeks. Five boroughs. One King of New York. In the fall of 2006 DC descended on the Big Apple for the King of New York, a DC team trip that surrounded a series of jam-format am contests in each of NYC’s five boroughs. The whole trip turned out to be a huge success, and we’ve documented the team’s exploits in The King of New York Video, now available as a free podcast at www.dckingofnewyork.com. As Lindsey Robertson says in the video, “The King of New York was the best trip we’ve been on.” The video features the DC team skating spots all over New York City; you’ll find footage of Colin McKay, Josh Kalis, Brian Wenning, Ryan Smith, Ryan Gallant, Devine Calloway, Lindsey Robertson, Sean Malto, and Greg Myers. Members of the DC Australian and Canadian skate teams also earned tricks, and there are also clips of a few surprise guests.
